Zono Team for Windows

For team members on a Windows PC or laptop: connect to your work, clock in and out and see your shifts.

Before you start

Your manager needs to set you up first. They'll give you:

  • a team code (a QR code on their screen, or a code starting ZWS1-), and a passphrase, told to you separately;
  • your username and a password (you may be asked to choose a new one when you first sign in).

Zono Team is free with your employer's Zono Workforce licence.

Install

  1. Sign in at zonosoft.co.uk/workforce/download (creating an account is free) and download the Windows installer for Zono Team.
  2. Open the downloaded file. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Follow the steps. You don't need to be an administrator. Tick Desktop shortcut if you want one.
  4. Open Zono Team from the Start menu or the desktop.

Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit. Updates download and install by themselves (Settings, then About). To remove the app, use Windows Settings, then Apps; your data is kept unless you tick the box to delete it.

Connect to your work

  1. Open Zono Team. On Connect to your work, paste the team code.
  2. Type the passphrase and choose Connect.
  3. Sign in with your username and password. You can tick Keep me signed in on this device for 30 days, and turn on Windows Hello sign-in.

Only your own shifts, clock times and holiday come to this device, encrypted. Nobody else's details, and no payroll.

Clock in and out

  1. From the main menu choose Clock in and out.
  2. Start shift when you arrive. On a laptop, Windows may need location turned on (Windows Settings, then Privacy & security, then Location).
  3. Start break and End break for unpaid breaks, then Finish shift when you leave.
  4. Your manager sees your times on their timesheets. If something looks wrong, tell them; they can correct it.

See your shifts and holiday

  • My shifts shows your shifts for the next three weeks, the times you clocked and your holiday left.
  • Shift reminders appear before each shift.
  • Changes your manager makes arrive by themselves when the app is online.

If something goes wrong

  • "That team code isn't right": check the passphrase with your manager. If they made a new code, the old one stops working.
  • Can't clock in: check you're at work and location is on; or clock in on the store terminal.
  • Forgot your password: ask your manager to reset it.
  • New phone or PC: install Zono Team again and ask your manager for a new team code.

Still stuck?

Email ZonoSoft@outlook.com with the app name, its version (Settings, then About) and what happened. Please don't send data files or staff details.
